'Later, Dog Breath

At long last I've gotten another picture from Inuyasha up! And it's a character I haven't done before, this time!

Actually, I've had this fully drawn for well over a month, I just never got around to scanning it and coloring it until now.

For my skill, I think this piece is actually done quite well, color-wise. It's also a nice attempt at something other than my tendency to make characters "smile for the camera." At least he's moving. This is actually an attempt at a new technique for me. I've dealt mostly in the cell-shaded look, but this one takes advantage of blur instead. I must admit, I rather like it. Not only does it look nice for shading, but it helped make my mountain not quite as horrendously ugly. (Though it's still not very good. I guess I just got lazy at the end...)

However, I can't help but kick myself for all the mistakes I made. Two of which I noticed right before scanning. First of all, I completely forgot Kouga's sword, (I can't help it! He never uses it!) which got drawn in at the last minute. Secondly, I wound up extending the fur around his waist. I realized that I had drawn it quite short, even for him! (Come, on! Face it! YOU think it's short on him in the anime, too!)
So, with those two fized, I scanned. Of course, later I then realized how short his legs are in this picture. He's probably half a foot shorter than he should be thanks to his mini-legs. -_-
And I also realized that his body is sorta contorted strangely. Mainly where his legs and hips meet. (And his right foot is awkward)
With so many mistakes in his lower body, I was tempted to just cut the picture off short, but it didn't really look right that way to me, so you have to suffer.

As for the title of this piece, I almost put "Run, Wolf Warrior, Run" (song from the Wolf's Rain sound track!) but the look on his face changed my mind. From his expression, it looks like he's just finished hitting on Kagome (and simultaneously pissing off Inuyasha) and is now taking off, and to piss Inuyasha off even more, taunting "Later, Dog Breath!" XD Gotta love thier rivalry. (Especially after I found a screen from the anime of Inuyasha and Kouga fighting over a bag of potato chips, and, in that picture, it looks like some strange form of interpretive dance! Maybe I should draw it?)
